Inside the Auto-Trail Scout
The Auto-Trail Scout offers a large, versatile layout, which is why this model is so well suited for families and groups. It’s easy to see on entering the motorhome that this model is designed with a social aspect in mind, from the kitchen and dinette area to the large lounge.
Let’s start with what is always the most sociable room in any home, the kitchen. Auto-Trail have cleverly carried this idea over to the Scout, where the large kitchen area sits opposite a comfortable dinette area for four people.
Even the fussiest of chefs will be pleasantly surprised by the clever use of space in the Scout’s kitchen. On the far end is a full oven with grill and hob, which features three gas rings and an electric hotplate. The oven includes a glass fold-down cover, doubling up as additional worktop space when it’s not in use. Next to this is a large domestic-style worktop area and sink. The large sink includes a rarely seen permanent drainer, as well as a glass cover to provide further additional worktop space. An illuminated splashback and LED lighting under the worktops provides a light an airy feeling to the area as evening falls. Overhead you’ll find cabin lockers alongside an integrated microwave, perfect for your morning porridge. Further storage site beneath the worktop, with a dedicated cutlery drawer and plenty of shelving - there’s even a cocktail cabinet. A large Dometic fridge with chest freezer ensures you and your family or friends are kept well-fed.
In the middle of the motorhome on the offside is the well-placed bathroom. Inside you’ll find a separate, fully-lined shower cubicle with double door opening for easy access. A handy fold down drying rail above the shower is the perfect place to dry clean clothes. There’s plenty of storage in the Scout’s bathroom, with a cupboard both beneath the sink and above the toilet, as well as a small shelf alongside the sink to display your toiletries whilst you’re stationary. There’s a large, backlit mirror here too, ideal for the ladies in the family to perfect their hair or make up.
As well as the dinette near the kitchen there is a large living area at the rear of the motorhome. The U-shape sofa is the perfect social setting for evenings in front of the TV or catching up on the days events with friends and family. Above there are locker-style lockers with enough storage to ensure the area can be kept clean and tidy during your holiday. The three large windows here provide plenty of natural light during the day. Whilst spotlights and lighting above the overhead cabins ensure you are well lit during the evening.
The Auto-Trail Scout can sleep between four to six people, depending on whether you opt for the Lo-Line or Hi-Line version. In the Lo-Line version there are two convertible double beds. The large rear lounge converts into a spacious double bed, with a prime view of the TV if you’re a fan of bed time viewing. The dinette towards to front of the motorhome also converts into a small double, which would be a tight squeeze for two adults, however perfect for children.
Meanwhile the Hi-Line version can sleep up to six people. The sleeping configurations are the same as the Lo-Line model, with the dinette and rear sofas converting to doubles. However above the cab is a comfortable double bed, with a ladder for access.
