1982: By 1982, Auto-Trail had established itself as a relatively experienced motorhome and caravan repair business, when its founders first decided to branch out into the manufacturing world.

Throughout the 1980s, Auto-Trail kickstarted operations with its signature cream-coloured coachwork motorhome built on the reliable Mercedes chassis – becoming one of the most popular leisure vehicles of the decade.

1990s: Auto-Trail developed their low-profile ranges, with the Cheyenne and Mohawk proving a hit on the market. In 1994 the Volkswagen Cree was born, showcasing Auto-Trail’s first ever end changing room, along with an open plan layout and contemporary soft furnishing schemes.

2007: Auto-Trail took it up a notch, with parallel bench seating and additional specifications including permanent beds for premium comfort.

2010s: The 2010s marked a period of rapid development and innovation in Auto-Trail design, with so many new additions launching on the market – many of which have since become bestsellers.

2013: In 2013, Auto-Trail launched the new V-Line campervan range, with panoramic skyline roof allowing the light to flood in. The perfect feature for modern day living.

2014: Combining functionality, style and quality, Auto-Trail launched the Imala motorhome range, a reliable five-model selection on the Fiat Ducato chassis, with great versatility for all the family to enjoy.

2020: Auto-Trail launched their very first elevating roof compact camper in the Adventure campervan range, epitomising top class engineering with premium sleeping solutions and interior design throughout. The Auto-Trail Adventure 65 went on to win the award for the ‘best rising-roof camper’ at the Practical Motorhome Awards the same year.
