These vehicles are often updated versions of previous best-sellers, and bring with them a host of enhancements both big and small. From minor tweaks to larger alterations and adjusted features, everything done by the manufacturers is designed to make a comfortable and convenient on the road lifestyle even more so.
In this brief edition of our blog we’re picking out a couple that will particularly appeal to those who are looking for a solid but splendid family all-rounder, and those who are looking for something luxurious and lively on the road.
Swift Voyager 540
With 50-plus years of experience in leisure vehicle manufacturer, it’s no wonder that Swift has become renowned for exceptional standards which deliver on construction quality, practicality, style and comfort. The Swift Voyager is one of the best Swift motorhomes available and may just be the ultimate embodiment of all the qualities we just mentioned. The 2024 editions could certainly all lay claim to being the perfect all-rounder for family touring, with great manoeuvrability as you take on the open road – but for the purposes of narrowing things down a bit we’re opting for the four-berth Voyager 540.
Built on a Ford Transit chassis with a Euro 6D 2.0 (155) TDCi EcoBlue engine and manual gearbox, the Swift Voyager 540 is built for performance as well as the combination of practicality and comfort. Featuring a multi-function steering wheel, cruise control, driver and passenger airbags, cab air-conditioning, tinted cab windows, reversing camera, swivel cab seats, eco stop/start, front fog lights, 16″ Alloy wheels and a steel spare wheel, the 540 is a great drive. The exterior features a 12V exterior power point, external cold water shower, BBQ point and 100W solar panel (for those truly off-grid moments) but the interior is where the Swift Voyager 540 really sings.
With a tasteful soft furnishing scheme featuring stain resistant, easy to clean fabric, an electric drop down bed plus plenty of other features, the Voyager 540 is designed to make everyday living a pleasure. The Zenec Xzent F-285 Infotainment system, DAB radio with Apple Carplay/Android Auto, USB charging point and TV points with 230V and 12V sockets and aerial socket should mean all of the family can stay entertained on those chilled evenings relaxing in the Ventura.
Auto Trail Grande Frontier GF 80
Available to order now for 2024, this spectacular 8-metre long A-class is built on a Fiat Ducato chassis with a 2.2(180) Euro 6D engine and automatic gearbox, and is one of the finest Auto Trail motorhomes. With a name that suggests an exciting and comfortable life exploring the open road, the Grande Frontier GF 80 is set up for absolute luxury while doing it.
The Moyet Oak solid plywood interior furniture and Layla leather upholstery add an immediate touch of class to this four-berth with two travel seats, with the range of top quality interior features providing the finesse required for a luxury life on the road. The fixed island bed at the rear is complemented by an en suite washroom featuring a shower and 12v electric flush toilet with removable cassette, and there is also a drop down double bed at the front, over the social area.
A comprehensive media pack is fitted as standard, including a 21.5″ Avtex smart TV and omni-directional TV aerial, 8″ Touch screen dashboard head unit, satellite navigation, digital radio with integrated DAB+ tuner and bluetooth. Other features and luxury touches include, illuminated splash back in the kitchen area, USB charging point. Exterior features include a cold shower, a BBQ point and a 100w solar panel and a 4.5m wind-out awning for when you need that bit of extra social or functional outdoor space.
